No, it's not Penny Smythe in the kitchen, it's self taught cookbook author extraordinaire, the ever capable Sharon Glass. Reminiscent of Smythe in infomercial mode - admittedly with a dash or two less charm - Glass takes on TV with her first ever series entitled Food in a Flash. Not so much entertainment as a master class in how to cook a chop and toss a salad, Glass infuses her monologue with a distinct nasal twang and heaps of practical tips and demonstrations.
Hardly a momentous event in South African television, but definitely a great win for The Home Channel.
